The main reason I got into the art career was because I enjoy watching movies. At the very beginning, I began to write my own short stories and soon after decided to make it my career path. As soon as I got the opportunity to major in film I thought the process was going to be fun and steady. Unfortunately, the process for me was difficult and not what I expected. I felt I was not ready and decided to pursue something along the same area. I had an entire summer to come up with the decision of majoring in animation. When I first got into animation I had plenty of fun and was imagining a career for myself. As time went by I found myself not improving in my animation skills and I knew animation was a competitive field. Since I was not improving in my skills I started doubting myself and felt I was not going to be accepted in this field so I once again changed my major.
When I was considering not continuing in animation I felt like I could have used my younger years to better prepare myself for these careers but I was never taught or told how the universities work. Thats when I decided to pursue a career in Art Education. I want students to understand the University expectations before they start and to be prepare to improve themselves during their journey.
